Become a champion

Our champions are both individual people and organisations who are fully committed to promoting and developing the concept of compassionate communities. They understand the philosophy the philosophy and that their needs to be change in attitudes and community involvement when people experience dying, death and loss.

Compassionate communities champions use their own skills, experience, time and influences to promote the concept and are a vital part of making the vision a reality.

We want to get everyone talking about it – so please pass it on,

What does a champion do?
That varies according to the skills and experience they can contribute – but there is role for everyone
• Speakers, media communicators and storytellers – to give presentations and talks to groups and schools
• Advocate – professionals who are able to tell colleagues about the development and gain strength and management support and people who can speak about the concept from a service user perspective
• Fundraisers – through social events, raffles, coffee mornings and
sponsored events
• Photographers
• Bloggers and tweeters – write about your experience and views on issues concerning dying, death and loss; contribute articles and features to the website; circulate stories in the media
